The Department aims to promote economic development and potentials of the province and the metropolitan area of Rome. The goal is to grow a territory that has great strategic opportunities: universities, a unique cultural heritage, an innovative enterprise system, a government capable of becoming a powerful lever to stimulate demand for innovation and creativity.


These are just some features of our territories, which often are not fully developed. The business world does not benefit from the innovations produced in our universities, our products do not "background" in foreign markets, our workers do not dialogue with our designers, our young people do not find opportunities to bring out their talents. If we 'feel' in the global competition we must overcome these obstacles and we are convinced that the Province may be useful in this regard. The provincial authority is in fact the best way to talk to the various realities of the territory, to understand their needs, find solutions to help him grow, through public action to facilitate the full deployment of these opportunities. With well-defined choices, that we are the innovation and attention to local culture. Specific choices, which find their basis in the European strategy, policy cohesion and the Lisbon Strategy. Choices that will enable us to orient and focus our resources on specific objectives. Innovation, quality and territory: these, therefore, the strengths of our actions over the coming years. Some concrete examples. In an environment that offers a university situation among the richest in Europe must speak and Enterprise University, the researchers counter that the most efficient companies, which companies know whom to contact when they have issues of process and product. In a reality that has the richest cultural heritage of the planet should be developed around the cultural and business major economic activity: ranging from services to tourists until the technologies applied to cultural heritage.
