Montalto di Castro (VT) is a town of 8,434 inhabitants. Is about 60 km from the capital. Placed at 42 m, Montalto di Castro is located in the coastal area of Maremma Lazio. Washed by the waters of the river Fiora, Montalto di Castro has among its attractions the Etruscan city of Vulci.
Its territory is on the ENEL power plant "Alessandro Volta" (nuclear power plant until 1988, but never finished because of the nuclear stop after the referendum). The city is served by a railway station on the line Pisa - Rome, even if it is not located in the city center.
